I’m Gail, the owner and creator of GG’s Signs & Designs.

I ran GG’s Signs & Designs from our family farm in southeast Iowa, where I live with my husband, Dennis, and our dog, Archie. After years of living the farm life, raising Simmental cattle, and spending as much time as I can in my workshop, I decided to turn my love for crafting into a business. I set up shop in our attic loft and garage, where I designed, sanded, painted, and carved each piece by hand. I take pride in crafting signs that feel personal and full of the warmth and charm of country living.

Last fall I opened a Fairfield, Iowa shop selling my handcrafted pieces plus vendor items. The front displays home décor, signs, and custom goods to inspire visitors; the back hosts craft classes for all ages where people learn skills and leave with handmade projects. The shop mixes retail and community: vendor displays support fellow makers, regular hours and a friendly face build repeat customers, and classes create steady community and word-of-mouth promotion. I’ve learned location, consistency, vendor relationships, and flexibility are crucial. Plans: more themed workshops, seasonal vendor collaborations, and expanded evening classes so the store stays a creative gathering spot.

It means the world to share a part of my creative journey with you. This business has given me the chance to do what I love every day, and I’m so grateful for each person who takes a piece of GG’s Signs & Designs into their home.
