Patriotic Barn Quilt Workshop: June 28, 2025
Location: The Necessities Mercantile: Eldon, Iowa (right next to the Post Office)
Time: 2:30 PM - approx. 7:30 PM
Join us for a delightful afternoon of creativity at our Patriotic Barn Quilt Workshop! You’ll have the opportunity to choose from 8 different patriotic patterns, perfect for showing your love for the red, white, and blue.
Whether you’re an experienced artist or a beginner, our friendly instructor will guide you through the process of creating your very own barn quilt. These beautiful pieces are designed to last for many years, bringing charm and vibrant color to your home or garden.
What to Expect:
Selection from various patriotic designs
Chose your painting surface: smooth MDO or picket fence boards (see pattern #1 for picket fence view)
Step-by-step guidance from our talented instructor
All materials provided for crafting your quilt

This Barn Quilt painting Workshop is a private event, hosted by Cindy Rupe. Come and enjoy a day of creativity, making your very own 2’ x 2’ barn quilt. Your barn quilt will be ready to hang inside or outdoors and weather proofed. The board is quality MDO, made for durable weather. You will chose from a variety of designs and instructed on how to mask and paint a barn quilt. Cost for the one-day class is $75. All materials are provided, along with over 80 paint colors to chose from. I will email you the week prior to class for instructions and updates.

Our Next Barn Quilt Painting Class
TWO DAY event if you so choose
Join us for a cozy barn quilting class at the Necessities Mercantile in Eldon, Iowa. You will discover the joy of creating a beautiful barn quilt that will brighten up any home! Choose from one of the patterns shown above to create your own custom Welcome sign! Surrounded by friends, you’ll paint vibrant patterns on MDO wood, capturing the charm of traditional quilts in a whole new way. Bring your creativity and we’ll provide everything else. There will be non-alcoholic beverages and food for purchase.
$85 for the two-day class.
$75 for the one-day class.
Saturday March 29th 2:30-4:30; Gail will provide instruction on how to transfer a barn quilt pattern onto a 18”x 36” board.
Sunday March 30th 1-6pm: This will be a day of painting and creativity. Your barn quilt board will be ready to paint!
All materials are provided. Bring an apron or wear old clothes.
